As I’ve flagged, we’ve had a big drop in money the past few weeks as a cluster of Education grants hit their deadlines the past couple weeks. Normally, this would be the quieter summer lull of the grants calendar, given we’re well into territory where running a good federal competition by the end of the fiscal year is a tough lift. However, last year we had some surprise dollars and tight deadlines emerge out of this part of the year.

Community Infrastructure Fund (August 24)
Who can get it? Governments, colleges, tribal organizations and governments, nonprofits, workforce boards, and regional planning organizations.
Total funding? $15 million

The fund supports the development of infrastructure in the Delta Region and in doing so creating access to more jobs, including access to programs such as Registered Apprenticeship.
Who can get it? Nonprofits, colleges, local governments, unions, faith-based organizations, and regional economic development entities, among others.

Award floor? $50,000
This fund invests in projects improving quality of life and economic development opportunities in the 255 counties and parishes in the Delta Region, including in workforce development and Registered Apprenticeship expansion.

Who can get it? Colleges.
Total funding? $14.5 million
This program encourages job creation and business development by training successful entrepreneurs.
