This week’s grant listings number: $2.6 billion.
This remains Listing Vacation Season, where things are quieter while federal grants staff deal with absurd deadlines to run good competitions so money is obligated to someone at least mildly trustworthy 61 days from today.
Buuut I still added several new federal grants this week. I also would keep your head on a swivel for absurd competition-length listings for larger dollars [glares at HHS]. But the big number remains much higher than I expected going into the week.
Some of this weeks’ highlights:
A significant number of support grants related to Community Service Block Grants.
“Fetch” update: The State Department has two new grants this week of the international grants, with names of the kind that a senator was reading with horror at a confirmation hearing a few weeks ago.

Who can get it? Nonprofits, colleges, local governments, unions, faith-based organizations, and regional economic development entities, among others.

Award floor? $50,000
This fund invests in projects improving quality of life and economic development opportunities in the 255 counties and parishes in the Delta Region, including in workforce development and Registered Apprenticeship expansion.
Community Infrastructure Fund (August 24)
Who can get it? Governments, colleges, tribal organizations and governments, nonprofits, workforce boards, and regional planning organizations.
Total funding? $15 million
Award ceiling? $1 million
Award floor? $250,000
The fund supports the development of infrastructure in the Delta Region and in doing so creating access to more jobs, including access to programs such as Registered Apprenticeship.
U.S. Department of Agriculture
Who can get it? Nonprofits.
Total funding? $5 million
Award ceiling? $1 million
Award floor? $200,000
These funds support nonprofit-run centers that develop cooperatives and mutually owned business in rural areas. These efforts must work to help save jobs or counsel employers on how to develop and hire a skilled workforce.
U.S. Department of Commerce
Who can get it? College, nonprofits, and governments.
Total funding? $237 million

This grant is aimed at helping manufacturers compete globally by expanding use of advanced manufacturing technology and building a stronger workforce.
